HOLD ON ONE MOTHA-EFFIN SECOND! Before you start asking questions, you should know that this page is really REALLY outdated. I typed this little short essay up when first I started this website back in April/May. There's really no information on here about me, as you can see. It was just a little something that people could read while I was getting the website ready over the summer. With that said, soon, this page will be COMPLETELY redone with pages and pages and oodles and oodles of information about me, my life, and this website. But how soon? I don't know? :]
About the site:
ruizwashere.com will be my own personal website and blog. It's all being built from the ground up; no external resources, templates, or anything. It's all from scratch. The friendly community of experts over at neowin.net has given me tons of help and tips on building my page, and I can't thank them enough! There are still tons more pages and info to add before it's actually considered "done", and so far it's only been tested in Internet Explorer 7.
Why did you want to do this??
Short version: I just wanna.
Long version:
There's a lot of reasons why. I may not appear like it on the outside, but anybody who knows me well enough, knows that I'm a pro when it
comes to computers. Yeah yeah, there's a lot of people in this world that claim that they're so damn good with computers, but I guarantee you,
over 90% of them are total noobs compared to me. Your little geek friend at school who thinks he's so good with computers, he's a noob.
As a PC technician, I've serviced and repaired tons of computers. I have over 600 hours of training in CompTIA A+ and Network+ courses, though I
did not take the examinations for certification. (I was short on money at the time) Computers are my hobby. I love them like a gay person loves rainbows.
Another small hobby I do on the side is Photoshop. I've been using Photoshop for over five years now for different purposes. Touching up photos,
professional artistic effects, the whole nine yards. People look at my work and tell me, "Wow Ruiz, you're so damn good at this." No. I'm not. I'm noob.
Compared to professional bloggers and web designers, I'm a total noobcake. And I've been slackin a bit in Photoshop over
the past year. I kinda wanna to use this website to get myself back into Photoshop so that I can continue to improve and become better.
Web design never fascinated me. I hated HTML (web page language) and all that crap. Back in middle school, around the summer of 2003, I used to be a staff member of a
fan website called "Golden Sun Adepts Refuge". It was based on a video game called Golden Sun made for the Game Boy. GSAR was a decent site and quite
popular compared to other Golden Sun fansites. I wish I could show you how it looked, but the site is pretty much dead now, and so is the Golden Sun community.
I really enjoyed being a staff member over there. What I hated the most though was the coding. I did only the basics and the other staff members did the advanced stuff. I began to feel
a bit useless to the site due to my lack of knowledge and effort. Eventually I quit and since then, the thought of web design never crossed my mind...
Then came MySpace. I shouldn't have to explain what this is. MySpace allowed you to use custom layouts for your profile.
Most people would just take a layout from another site and slap it on their profile, which was cool, but most of them looked so fugly. All that stupid
glitter crap flyin around everywhere, slowin down my computer, can't even see anything cause there's spam everywhere. Plus too many people had the
same layout, which was dumb. Instead of copying a layout, I created my own basic code and used it as my own layout. If I wanted to change the layout, just
swap out the pictures, change some colors, and BAM, fresh new layout that everyone liked. It wasn't anything difficult,
just basic HTML coding. Eventually I quit MySpace because I realized how stupid it really was. It's still stupid. I don't care who you are, if you spend
more than one hour a day on it fishing for comments and posting bullitens, please, I beg of you, get a life.
So yeah, that's it I guess. My goal is to get this site up and running 100% by the end of summer. I'm really not sure if I can reach this goal, I've
been really busy lately, but I will try my hardest. Hit me up and let me know what you think of the site. Comments, suggestions, and (constructive)
criticisms are ALWAYS welcome.
